Logitech MX700 mouse question

Im lookin at this mouse(logitech mx700) and im curious about something.
Currently i have a logitech internet navigator keyboard and it has a
"back" button for internet browsing. This mouse has "back" and "forward"
buttons on it, which i think is really cool. The part im curious about
is that the "go" button on my keyboard doesn't work with mozilla firefox
or mozilla 1.7(im a tabbed browsin kinda man now). What id like to know,
is what browsers those buttons are compatible with. I know that the
keyboard supports a few browsers, but i cant find any information as to
what browsers those 2 buttons will work with. I know it will work with
IE, but i need it to work with firefox

Either I'm getting this wrong.... or you're adding too much info.
I run the MX500 and the back and forward buttons work fine in
Firefox 0.8 and Mozilla 1.6. Since the Mouseware download for
both the MX500 and the MX700 are the same file, I'm going to
assume the MX700 back/forward buttons are also going to work
in 0.8 and 1.6. You can also change the buttons on the mouse
around to do different things. Myself, I'd like to see the next
Mouseware version to come out support programming key
sequences (like my old Boomslang Razor) to specific buttons
for use in games.
Can't tell you anything about the keyboard tho.

i think what i did, was give the right info, but i jumbled it up to the
point where it got confusing, but knowing that your's works fine with
those two browsers give's me a reason to the buy mx duo ;-)...

basically this was what i was tryign to say

my keyboard has a "back" button which doesnt work in firefox

i was curious if the "back and forward" buttons on the mx700 mouse would
only work in IE and not in firefox, but since yours works, i guess it's
not a problem. Those buttons are really the reason for buying that mouse IMO

The mouseware that came with my MX700 a month ago wasn't the latest
one. The latest one does allow you to set the mouse buttons to any
keyboard button. Only single keypresses, no sequences, but that still
allows a lot of functionality.

To the OP, are there keyboard buttons that work as back/forward
buttons in firefox? If so, then just set the mouse buttons to those
keyboard keypresses and it will all work fine.

Same works for games that won't recognise the 4th and 5th button on my
MX700. So what i do is set those buttons to be PGUP and PGDN in the
mouseware drivers. Then in the game i just assign PGUP/DN to the do
something in the game and the mouse buttons do it no problem.

thats the problem im having, this button wont take another keystroke as
a parameter. It pretty much does one thing, and that's "back" in a web
browser. I COULD switch back to avant, so i could use the button with
tabbed browsing, but IE has so many flaws in it i just made the jump to
firebird/firefox

I meant to say that if you get the MX700, you can customize the
buttons to accept keystrokes so setting up forward/back buttons will
not be a problem.

Unfortunatly i don't have a solution to your keyboard problem. I
assume you can't change those buttons through the mouseware software.
And sound like they don't have any sort of 'keyboardware' software to
do it either.

Get the mouse. Be happy :)
