I have Windows 2000 professional on my laptop. My laptop
has a security feature that asks me to change my passord
once a month. When it is close to expiring, at login it
prompts me with the amount of days I have to change my
password. I can click yes to change or no to change
later. I usually click no when I have like 12 days left.
Once it shows I have a few days left, I change it
immediately. The problem is I didn't use the laptop for
awhile and my password expired. I cannot log in at all
and I forgot what my administrator password is. How can I
bypass or get in to change it? I don't want to lose my
current applciations and data already stored on it, so
formatting the drive and re-installing is not an option.

If you remember your old password you should still be able to log-in.
Windows won't let you proceed with your work until you change your password.
