Login script does not run

A problem with all our Windows XP machines here.
When someone switches on his/ her PC and logs in, no
network drives are available. Somehow the login script
does not run.
When the user logs off and on again, the scipt can be seen
running and everything is fine.

Any ideas?

In addition:

When the user waits two minutes before typing in his
password and logging in, verything is ok.

It looks like the login script does not run when the user
log in too soon. Very weird.

I remember a special setting that makes Windows delay the logon
until after the network is started.

Unfortunately I don't remember where I saw this, but at least
it's a hint. I also don't know whether it would solve your
problem.

need to delay script so network drives can complete connection

try adding this as first line of script

PING -n 1 127.0.0.1>nul (adds 1 second delay)

Although XP boots much faster than previous OS's, it does
seem to take a little time for the networking functions
to kick in. I don't know of any way to resolve the
problem other than having the users wait for maybe 10
seconds before they initially log in.

Hey I was wondering... does anyone know of any KB articles about this topic?
I have searched repeatedly with no luck, but was hoping someone else may have
just come across it. We've had the same problem on our network. It also
appears to affect users being told they are locked out when they really
aren't. And if they just wait 5-10 seconds before logging in, there is no
longer a problem.
