Hello all

I am having a problem with an xp client machine that keeps
asking for login details if left for a few minutes.

In the screen saver settings the option for "on resume,
password protect" is enabled but it is grayed out. I have
tried disabling this under Administrator, but I can't.

There is no group policy set to enable this, but I was
wondering if there is a setting in Local Security Setting
or a registry tweak that might fix this.

cheers

Ed,

Disable ScreenSaver password protection via registry:

Click Start | Run | Regedit
Goto this location:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

In the right pane, look for the value "ScreenSaverIsSecure" and set it to
"0"
Set "NoAutoReturnToWelcome" to "1"
