Hi, Is there a possibility somewhere to modify the logon screen that
pops up when you conect a network drive from a station to a server and
you need to authenticate ?

I know I can do that for the logon ON a machine, but I have no idea
for this situation.

Many thanks

So, you mean in Explorer when you choose map network drive and "connect
using a different user name" ?
I don't think you can modify that. What is it you're looking to do? Is this
a workstation that isn't part of a/this domain?

Nope, the station can be part or not of a domain. If you type in the
run windows : \\server\share a pop-up appears, where you type username
-pass. It's the same than the one you mention )connect using a
different name). I'd like to modify this windows.

Actually, it's for people who have lost their password (some dummies)
and who try to mount a drive or reach the server. And my boss wants to
know if it's possible to have a little sentence to say that in case
the password is lost, go to wwww.changepass.com (or whatever). I
suspect it's not possible, just want to make sure....

But are they, and is the share they're trying to get to also on a
server/workstation on the domain? This shouldn't be a problem if they are -
and I'd keep all computers joined to the domain & not allow local logins.

I don't think this is possible.
