Login Failure: changed primary dns suffix and now cannot login

Was helping a friend setup a windows domain and on a client computer changed
the Primary DNS Suffix. Upon resarting the client machine we can no longer
login to windows XP Pro with the only User/Pass account on that machine. I
am sure we have done something silly and hopefully easilly repairable

There should be a dropdown on the login-screen which will allow you to
select a local logon instead of the domain.

Once on, check the network settings, and see that you can resolve/ping the
server by hostname. It's unlikley that the domain suffix would cause this,
more likely the DNS server IP or suchlike has been changed as well.
