logging on as the Administrator account

I've read that Under Windows Vista HP, unless I'm logged on as the
Administrator account, all applications run in a reduced privilege mode,
even if my account has administrative privileges. When I execute a command
that requires higher privileges, I'm prompted on whether the action should
be allowed. This is Windows Vista User Access Control (UAC) functionality
which at times can be extremely annoying. Recently, I was prompted for
permission before I was allowed to create a new folder, which for me was the
final straw.

How do I log on as the Administrator each time I boot my computer so I don't
have to deal with the prompts anymore? I'm the only person who uses my
computer.

Thank you.

As long as you are SURE you don't want the prompts, you can go to
"Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Turn User Account Control on or
off" and just disable it.

Yeah it's extremely paranoid and while I understand where MS was
trying to go, it's really a poor and highly, highly intrusive way to
do it.

Click on your user picture in the start menu. In User Accounts, click on
"Turn User Account Control on or off".

Thanks but I would still like to know how to log on as Administrator when I
boot my computer.

If your account is a member of the administrators group and you disable UAC
you are effectively logging on as the local administrator. The
"administrator" account is disabled by default on Vista.

You have to boot in maintenance mode to gain access to the actual
administrator account.

For a long time I was puzzled that no one responded to my question, "How do
I boot my computer as Administrator?" It seemed liked such a simple question
at the time but after additional research I've discovered that it's far from
simple. I've learned that Microsoft has intentionally made the process very
cumbersome because it doesn't want users to log on as Administrators.
Essentially Microsoft has disabled and hidden the Administrator account in
clean installs of Vista to protect computers from malware and hackers. By
changing the name of the account that has administrative privileges from
Administrator to something else, Windows is more secure.

However, it is possible to log on as Administrator. However, I should add
here that while it can be done, it probably should not be done. Rather than
list all the steps here, I'll simply provide the link to the article written
by Scot Finnie:
