Log(x) for x>0 spans the entire real line. Log(-x) involves coplex
numbers (cobination of real and imaginary numbers). How do you think
they should be handled on your graph scale?
What I have done is to separate the negative numbers from the positive and
plot the absolute values of these as a different color. You might also want
to check if your data can be appropriately defined as absolute values and
just plot the absolute value.
