XP Pro SP2

When I installed XP I set up user accounts for myself & my wife. We both
find it a pain & have no secrets. How can I ditch the seperate accounts and
have XP boot straight-up without having to sign-on a user.

XP is a modern operating system and as such has user accounts. There is
nothing preventing you from having only one user account. Either make a
new account for both of you or decide which one of the extant accounts
you want to use. Then do:

Start>Run control userpasswords2 [enter]

Select the user account from the list to which you want to automatically
logon. Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password..." and click
"OK". Type the user account password - if there isn't one, leave it
blank.

Now your computer will automatically go into the account you want.
