Log off issue

Hello everyone...
I face a very strange issue with my Win 2000 Pro+SP3
When I lock the machine and un-lock it again it logs off
instead of returning back to the desktop.
Also sometimes when I working suddenly it logs off.
 
When you refer to logs off, do you mean it shuts down and reboots or does it
go back to the login screen? Is this system on a network or is it a stand
alone? Also are you connected to the internet when this happens? Could you
please repost with the information, this would help to narrow down the
problem.
