Log Off being force after X hours

Every morning I come into work I'm logged out of my XP machine. They
were forcing this by using logofdel.exe, which I killed after I logged
on.

My scripts sometimes take days to run and they cannot be interrupted by
constantly being logged off.

Is there a group policy that's being pushed down that's logging me off?

How can I stop this?

Hi Chris

I didnt verify this, but I believe that in principle, your programs or
scripts should run allways you arer logged, and no matter if other persons
are logged too. So, you have to find the way to log your computer without
phisical access to it. Mainly, in this sense, there is no why, I believe, to
log out you.

hope this helps, Carlos.

My WSH/VBS scripts execute from my PC. However, when I'm logged off
these WSH scripts close.

It's a bit of a sledgehammer approach, but when I have something like that
going on, I either disable my network connection or pull out the network
cable. I have also at times pulled the machine from the domain and killed
the group policy while I am working on my project.

I can't do that as the scripts I'm running are installing patches on my
systems. I don't have access to the SMS servers and those that run the
servers aren't putting packages together that patch my boxes (1000+)

So I can't disconnect =]

You NEED to have a little chat with the network administrator. Or your
supervisor, whichever one is easier to get to listen.

I'd say there is something wrong in your org if you need to rely on WS
based scripts to patch that many systems. you need to have a chat with
somebody high up in IT.
