Hi Zee,

Start/run "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes).

Uncheck the box requiring a username and password, click apply/ok and follow
the prompts to set up a default logon.

Hey Zee,

Is the computer still part of a domain ?
If so put it back to being part of a workgroup

control panel/system/computer name/change

click the workgroup button and key in a name, WORKGROUP
will do.

Next just to make sure you have full functionality,

control panel/user accounts/change the way users log on or off

select Use the welcome screen and fast user switching.

Now for automatic logon

start/run
control userpasswords2
Click on the username you want ot automatically log on with, and untick the
box which says "Users must enter a username and password to use this
computer"
Click apply and you will be prompted to enter the password for the user you
have selected.
Reboot, and you should go straight to the desktop.
