Locking down design mode

Jeff McSweeney

Our company has developed an Access database that we want
to make available to a partner company. At this point we
haven't built in any restrictions or used passord
prtoection of any kind--users can modify designs, delete
forms, you name it. What is the simplest way to lock down
this database so that users cannot make design mode-type
changes? Thanks for your help.

You can deliver the file to your partner company as an MDE. The Make MDE
command is found in the Menu under Tools|Database Utilities. (Note: When
making an MDE file, always make sure that you have a nice, clean copy of
your MDB file stashed somewhere.)
