I have created a new design template to be used by other
divisions within my organization. How do I lock the file
so that it cannot be manipulated?

Hi Rick,

Saving it as a POT file and placing it in the template
directory will maintain the original design template and
allow the customer to create a new presentation with the
design. However, on their own presentation they can
manipulate the master slides and change the template. I
don't think there's any way around this.

PowerPoint does not offer item-level protection. I'd let MS know that this
is something you would like to see in the next version.
