Locked out of My Documents

I re installed windows XP on my computer, so I moved all my files I wanted to
save onto my I POD first. After re installing, i had to install the I POD
again, which means I also lost all the files from the IPOD when it configured
it. Turns out my songs were still on my computer, as well as My Documents. I
can access the songs becuase they were left on the C drive, but I can access
my documents since I started a new account when I reinstalle windows. So the
files are there, i just can get into the Docs folder, it keeps saying access
is denied. Any way I can get back into my files from my old account? Please
help...

right click on the offending folder and take "security" , then add yourself
as the owner with rights etc.

how do you know he has simple file sharing on? how do you know he has XP
pro?

go to start>run and enter

control userpasswords2

click on your username then properties then Group membership>Other then
select Administrators. Then click Apply.

Assuming if you are not a limited user.

Changing the account type to Administrator still won't get you access
to the folders/files in question, but it is the first step.

After logged on with Administrative Rights, take ownership of the
files/folders in question. It's all there in Help.
