Locked lost folder

I had my WIN xp system crash and instead of trying to fix I just rebuilt and
took the old hard drive and made it a slave. I was able to get everything
back except for one folder that I kept some private files. I can see the
directory still but can't acess it. It almost looks like the directory is
empty but when I looked at it another way I see the files in it but just
can't acess them. Any ideas on how to unlock this directory would make me
very happy.

Thanks had a little trouble because I was on XP then saw the note about
changing the way xp looks at the filesystem and it worked.
