Locked Documents

My word document is locked and i can't do anything on it at all .. everytime
i try to a thing pops up that says "this modification is not allowed because
this document is locked" Does anyone know how to unlock it ?
 
Assuming the document has not been protected in some way (see whether the
Tools menu shows Protect Document or Unprotect Document), this usually means
that you haven't activated Word (Help | Activate Product) or that it is a
trial version that has expired.
