How do I unlock a template that a former employee created? We need to make

Knowing which version of Word you're using would be a big help here
Obiously Protection needs to be turned off, but the process varies depending
on version. You'll first need to navigate to & open the template itself.
Best guesses from there:
If Word 2007 - On the Review tab click Protect Document & select Restrict
Editing & Formatting. At the bottom Task Pane that appears click the Stop
Protection button,
If Word 2003 - Go to Tools> Unprotect Document
Either way you may run into a prompt for a password, without which you
cannot turn the protection off. There may be a way to do so, but I don't
know what it might be.
You should be able to create a new document based on the template & Save As
a new template file which isn't protected, but that may vary as well.
