why is my computer asking me to choose a location type for "network 2" when i
dont even have any other computer in the house..this is my one and only
computer ...
and i have two accounts on my computer which is one the admistrator...and
second one is the guest account which i use most of the time for internet
browsing...is the second account the network 2 its askin about? and i have a
printer which is connected to this computer ..i really dont get this network
thing...im just worried that maybe someone from other computers around the
neighborhood is trying to access my network or computer? and no i dont have
wireless internet..i just have regular ethernet cable plugged in my computer
and the cable modem box that the guy installed when we got comcast triple
play..in the modem it has the wires from the cable phone and ethernet...

one more thing...whenever i go to my administrative account and look at the
network center..in the network map..it has ofcourse icon showing my computer
name for the administrator..and a second icon for a network 2 it was asking
about...ahh im sorry if this is confusing but i just really dont know about
network thing type stuff..

You need to get a router to sit between you and that cable modem. It is
possible the modem is also a router but the only way to check is for you to
check the IP address. if it starts with 192.168.x.x, then you are behind a
router with little to worry about. Just change the default password on the
router to something with number, CAPS, and specials.
