Location of Word macro button icons I created?

I created several macros in Normal.dot and grouped them on a toolbar. For
each, I created a unique icon for the button

I inadvertently deleted the group.

The macros still exist, of course, but when reinstalled on a toolbar, the
default icon image is present and, when I select, "Change Button Image", I
find none of the images I created. where are these stored and how do I
reinstall them for each of the original macros?

If you pasted the images they are still where you pasted them from. If you
created the images they were stored in the custom toolbar which was stored
in the normal.dot template and are now deleted - unless you have a backup of
normal.dot from a time before you deleted the toolbar. Did you in fact
delete the toolbar or simply turn it off?.

Thanks for the response. To the best of my recollection, those macros were
on a toolbar (which still exists) grouped under a single button that, when
clicked, displayed a menu with those macros on it. Does that mean that the
group of those macros itself was a separate toolbar? I deleted that main
"button" from the primary toolbar.

Also, I do have a backup of Normal.dot that would have it all, but there are
some new macros that I have added since taht backup was made. I suppose I
could just go into the macro editor and copy the macro code for those, then
re-paste it into the macro code sheet of the restored Normal.dot. Would that
be the best approach?

It sounds as though you have a personal toolbar containing your commands
called by another button on the standard toolbar? It is hard to say without
seeing the template. You should be able to ressurrect that toolbar if it is
still present. You can also copy toolbars and macros between templates using
the macro organizer.

Rename your current normal.dot to oldnormal.dot. Replace your backup of
normal.dot then copy the changes from oldnormal.dot to the replaced one.
