what is this file? I have done a delete of the files and folders that were in
there that I guess were left over from the reinstall of windows. before that
my transfers in messenger were a little slow and now they move even slower.
I deleted them only as in advice from my ISP about speeding up the
connection. webpages come up fine but its just the transfers in messenger
that are very slow.

That (the subject line) is a FOLDER, not a file.

I meant to say Folder:s but the FILES that were inside I deleted except for
those that weren't deleteable.

All files that contained/located in a "temp" folder
can be deleted. Those files that you mentioned
could not be deleted most likely have today's
date and time stamp and are in use by one or
more of you applications.

then it shouldn't have any affect on messenger file transfers but something
somewhere seems to :s when I reinstalled the driver to the networking
controler it has been slow too :s

I'd say the question comes back to what "messenger" are you using to
effect said file transfer, and what has happened (is happening) there?

I am using WLM 2008 and it is just running slow. it will eventualy get there
but instead of transfering at a fast rate it transfers little by little.
