My computer was doing some strange things. I ran an online scan. It
turned up several .exe files as a Trojan. After deleting these files the
computer ran fine for the day. Next day network places disappeared.
Going to admin tools, services were all disabled. I went through each
one assigned auto or manual and start. Everything ran fine for a day or
two then network places dissappeared again. Services all disabled again.
Enabled, went on line, another scan turned up nothing. Services all of a
sudden disable themselves again. Reckon why? All other progams run fine.

Only Networking and dailup seem to be affected.

You're being naive if you think that all you need to do to remove trojans is
to delete some .exe files. You need to get a full-featured antivirus
program, and you need to configure it to run at startup and stay running in
the background. No one should operate a computer without full-time antivirus
protection. And that's only the beginning. Read here for more information:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/protect/default.asp.

You need an antivirus program to deal with the trojans on your computer.
Some viruses are impossible to completely remove. If you're lucky, you won't
have to wipe your hard drive clean and start from scratch.
