local profile taking 20 minutes

I have one PC on my network that takes 20 minutes to apply the personal
settings for a local profile. I have checked all the temp folders and
removed everything from there. I made sure all documents are on the user's
folder on the server. I have checked to make sure there is nothing unusual
starting up. I am at a loss. The PC has Symantec Corporate Edition and
Spysweeper Enterprise that load at startup but that is on all my machines.
What should I look for to fix this? Thanks.

Compare the DNS settings on the ailing PC to one that works correctly - I'll
bet the slow PC doesn't have the correct DNS servers configured.

Richard's advice is sound - but also, if you're using a roaming profile,
make sure it's *tiny*.
And check the workstation's event logs for userenv errors - might want to
d/l & install the MS User Profile Hive Cleanup utility.

Hi,
Do you have google earth installed??
I have seen, that the data for google earth can be about 1 GB and they ar
elocated in the local profile of the user.

Hope it helps.
