Local & Group policy.

Hi,
I installed active directory then I attempted to remove
it. In the process I lost my access to Local user and
group policy. Now there is big red x.

Please let me know how can I restore this access.

Local Users & Computers is not available when you install Active Directory
on a server. Did the dcpromo process down to a member server complete
without error?

No, it was giving some error I donot remember what was
that and then I aborted abruptly.

It's therefore likely that the server is still a Domain Controller which is
why you cannot access the local accounts. Run dcpromo again but this time
make a note of any error messages you see and we can try to troubleshoot
those.

As a general check, make sure the server is correctly set up for DNS and is
pointing only to your internal DNS servers.

Also run a dcdiag /v and netdiag /v on the server before running dcpromo and
this should discover any obvious errors that would prevent dcpromo from
running.
