Loading Roaming Profile takes for ever

Hi,

Recently, we have noticed that loading and applying personal profile takes a
lot longer than it used to be.

Server: 2003
Clients: XP Professional

We are using Mandatory Roaming profiles for most users. We have small
office network with SBC 2Wire DSL modem set in Bridge Mode to work with
D-Link (DFL 300) small office firewall router.

Synchornizing files on logout also takes longer.

Any help/suggestions will be appreciated.

Upon further investigation, I also noticed following error in the event viewer.

Automatic certificate enrollment for mydomain\mylogon failed to contact the
active directory (0x8007054b). The specified domain either does not exist or
could not be contacted.
Enrollment will not be performed.

I did read about this error on the Microsoft help page but my DNS
configuration seems to be ok. What other troubleshooting can I look into?
