Loading new programme. Where are the setup files?

In the process of executing an exe. compressed file from the internet, it
places the uncompressed files in a temp directory prior to executing the
setup file amongst them to load the programme.

How do I find where that folder is - what folder is normally used in XP Pro
to do that?

C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Local Settings\Temp
This is a hidden folder so hidden folders have to be set to show.
