Load a text file into a table?

Using Office 2003 and Windows XP;

Is it possible to store a text file or a MS-Word file in an Access table?

If so, I'm thinking I would build an interface that allows a user to point
to the file, then have the code upload it. If possible, could someone please
post generic example code to do it (i.e. just the upload into a table part)?

If not possible (I think not, but you don't know unless you ask), what is a
good work around for storing long strings of text? I don't really like
working with memo fields.

Any ideas?
