Little Difference between Epson 4870 and Dedicated 35mm Scan Scanners

Entirely True, but I think it has something to do with experience. Have the
Nikon users ever used any other Brand? I suspect not, simply because Nikon
were one of the first out of the box.


My LS-8000 is my fourth film scanner. I started
with a Microtek 35t+ in 1998. That was replaced
after a year or so by a Polaroid SprintScan 35+.

When I started shooting MF I bought an Epson
1640SU (this was about 1/2 year before the
LS-8000 became available.) In June 2001 I
bought the Nikon to replace the Epson.

When I started shooting LF I bought a Microtek
2500. And for a while I owned and used a
ScanMate 5000 drum scanner. Pity that Nikon
doesn't currently market an LF filmscanner.
