little box with red circle and X thru it

I have a little 1x1 box that has a small red circle in it
with an X on the circle. No message. I can't get rid of
it. I exit it and it comes back a few seconds later. I
have run my virus scan and it's not a virus. I am thinking
it may be a windows security problem but don't know how to
check it out. Has anyone seen this before or heard of it?

I've got it as well, under win2k SP4. Lemme know if you can make it go away...
