list box and multicolor fonts?

I have several list boxes made using the (data>validation>list) set of menu
commands. They function very well for me. I however would like some of the
list selections to have a red font when displayed and some of them to have a
black font when displayed. I have changed the color of the source items for
the list. This change does not seem to effect the color in the list box
created by (data>validation> list).

I'm afraid that what you see is what you get with the validation drop down
lists.
