Linksys WRT54g (Version 5) IP Issues

My ISP won't assign an IP address to my Linksys WRT54g (Version 5)
router. It will assign an IP to my computer, which is using the same
MAC address. The router seems to be configured correctly; it's set up
for DHCP, etc, so it should appear to be identical to my computer...
My ISP has a no router policy, so I'm guessing they can somehow tell
that it's a router and not a computer. Does anybody know how I could
fix tihs problem and get an IP for the router? Any help would be
greatly appreciated. -Gish

There are many self-appointed intellectual property police agents in this ng
(at least as far as MS IP is concerned), so it's unlikely that you'll get
much help here in circumventing your ISP's terms of service.

If you've already cloned your PC's MAC address (and it sounds like you have)
but still can't get things to work, your best bet is to try in the Linksys
and/or your ISP-specific forum at http://www.broadbandreports.com/forums/all
or at http://www.linksysinfo.org/

Since you have clone the PC's MAC address to the Linksys router and the ISP
has a "no router" policy (bogus in my view), then your only choice is to
"switch" ISP to one that will allow routers. Routers are not supposed to
"cheat" ISPs. Most ISP permit one IP address, which the router will use.
