Links utilizing java take no action when clicked

I have been wondering why allot of different links on
many websites would not work.I began right clicking them
and looking at their properties window and noticed that
all of the links I could not open were using Java. I
tried diwnloading java which did nothing and I don't know
what else to try. Any help would be great -Jared

Click Tools > Internet Options. On the Advanced tab, in the Browsing
section, select the check boxes next to any of the items under "Java (Sun)"
or "Microsoft VM" that you want to use. To run Java applets, you need to
enable these items.
