links on toolbar take too long to open

When I click on the toolbar on Windows XP, the button shows depressed. Then
it goes away and nothing happens. The hourglass disappears too. Sometimes
after 30 seconds, it opens the program, such as Outlook or IE. Does anyone
know what could be causing this delay or failure to open? Sometimes I have
to click 7 -10 times before it opens.

Thanks, Carl

Unfortunately, you haven't told us anything about your computer or
whether this problem always existed and if not, what changed. Go here
for help in making a good newsgroup post:

http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm

Then do come back and repost with all necessary details. There are lots
of people reading this newsgroup who want to help you (like me), but
you have to give us something with which to work.

We will also want this crucial piece of information: whether your
computer is 100% virus and malware-free and if you think it is, what
you did to determine that.

This is a PC, Windows XP, didn't happen until after installing SP2. I also
installed Spybot and Windows Spyware detection software. Don't recall if it
was happening prior or not.

Neither Spybot nor the beta MS AntiSpyware are antivirus programs. What
full-featured antivirus program do you have installed? Name and version
and date of your last virus definitions, please.
