Links need to be refreshed?

I have several oracle table that I link to thru ODBC link. I haven't noticed
this before, but lately the linked tables are not automatically showing
updates to the table. Instead, in order for me to see the updates to the
table, I have to refresh the link thru the Linked table manager. Please help
me understand why the links are not automatically updating. I thought this
was the whole purpose of linking instead of importing.( so you have a "live"
version of the table automatically)
I work with several tables and do not know the structure and content of each
table
to know which ones are not showing correctly. So, this makes me refresh
every linked table before I run queries, which defeats the purpose of linking
tables.
Is there a way around this?

Thanks!

I run into the same exact issue with my access through odbc to a sql server.
The tables HAVE to be refreshed. I finally just created a command to
automatically refresh them when needed. That may not be the best answer, but
it's the only one I have.

Can you please help me with the C# code to refresh
linked tables in Access from SQL Server?
