Links colors

Anyone have an idea why IE would stop using the color
indicators for visited and unvisited web links?

When I click on a link, and then eventually return to the
page where the link visually exists, the clicked-on link
is still the same color it was originally. IE has NOT
changed its color, as it is supposed to.

Any thoughts on how to cure this minor, but very annoying
problem?
