Links between documents

I am using Word 2003 on an XP computer. I am also working on a computer with
a wireless connection.

I have several documents that are indexes to files and have linked to the
files for quick access. I also have posted some of these in Outlook which I
use frequently.

When I go to open the document from a link and I get the following message
"This operation has been cancelled do to restrictions in effect on this
computer. Please contact your system administrator."

No one touches the administrator settings. I do not even know how to enter
the administrator desktop and if I did I do not know how to troubleshoot from
that desktop.

The links worked until this morning.
