Is there a way to link workbooks such that the hyperlink shows on th
screen but does not print?

( I have workbooks A, B, & C that all pertain to the same subject bu
are in different folders in my directory structure. When I open one o
them, I want an easy way to be reminded of the others and to open the
up from the first workbook.):)

Thanks

There are better ways to accomplish what you want, like an Auto_Ope
macro in that first workbook that opens the other workbooks. But if yo
do not want to always open the others, here's a suggestion on you
hyperlinks. Insert an object - could be clip art - could be a simpl
rectangle that you draw (using the drawing toolbar), where you coul
insert text showing the name of another workbook or any text you want
Then, after you right click on the object, you can assign a hyperlink to it
Then right click (again) on the edge of the object, select
Format Auto Shape, then pick the Properties tab, and uncheck Print Objec
Clicking on the object then, will open the file if it is not already open, o
switch to that window, if it is already open, and the object won't appea
on your printout. Repeat for each workbook you want to be able to open

You could do that with an object. Go to Insert/Picture or Insert/object
place the object on the sheet where you need it.

Then right click to add text. Right click again on the edge to get th
Format Object option. Select Properties and chose to have the objec
not print.

Thanks, Lane. That was what I wanted. I was able to select an existin
file from inside the Insert Object dialogue box with a link to the fil
if I want. So now when i open one file, I can quickly open all th
other files that are related to it.:D

Thanks again.
