linking websites

how do i create a link from one website to my website? it's probably pretty
simple, but i am not having any luck.

Unless you have Edit/Publish access to the website you can't.

If you have access to the files, you would just create a link to your site..

The "one website" must be owned by you also. Open "one
website" in FrontPage. Open the page where you wish to
place the link. Type the name "My Website" and select "My
Website", then hold down Ctrl and press K. Type the full
URL of "My Website", i.e., http://www.mywebsite.com

Select the link.
Select the 'create link'

Insert menu >Hyperlink. Type in the URL in the "address" field at the bottom of
the Insert Hyperlink dialogue the full url, including the http://www bit.

you can't have another site (that isn't yours) link back to yours unless you
request their webmaster to add you to their site.....what is your site about, and
what sites do you want to link from - are they similar in content and subject
matter? do they have a 'add your link here' kind of page?
