HI,

I've got a table of customers with sales figures and details of service.
However on the form, instead of actually typing in the details of service i
want to be able to put a link in for each customer record which opens up a
word document with the details already in. This is because i have a load of
word documents already with these service details. I tried changing the
data type to a hyperlink and put in the path to one of the word documents
but it came up with an error message saying access couldn't open the
specified file.

Any help/suggestions will be well appreciated.

Thanks

JG

Normally a file will when you double-click on its icon in Windows
Explorer, it will open when put its path in an Access hyperlink field.
You can use either a Windows path, e.g.
C:\The Folder\OffAutmn\Automating Office.doc
or a URL, e.g.
file:///C:/The%20Folder/OffAutmn/Automating%20Office.doc
