Linking tasks to Calendar in Outlook

I may be attacking this issue from the wrong angle, so I'm going to explain
what I'm trying to do and see if anyone has any ideas.

I want a way to track not only my appointments with specific times attached
to them (calendar items) but tasks *by day*. So, I'd like to go back to
March 3rd, for example, and see the appointments I had AND a list of tasks I
completed THAT DAY (and maybe tasks I didn't complete but had on my 'to do'
list).

The task list in Outlook seems to have *almost* all of that functionality,
but tasks seem to be saved individually rather than as a collective list. If
there were a way to save an entire task list I could just save the list at
the end of each day with a different name (3-25-05.rtf) and I'd have the
archived list of tasks for that day. But I can't figure out how to save an
entire task list.

I'm assuming maybe I'm missing something obvious. There *must* be a way to
accomplish what I'm trying to do. I can't possibly be the only one that's
ever wanted to save a new list of tasks that is archived by date or linked to
the calendar somehow. What am I missing?

Thanks!

G'day. Well you can do a lot of what you want but not quite exactly that.
Sorry but you're trying to replicate a paper based system and the benefits
of Outlook are huge, but not for the exact way you want to see your past
work (Tasks).

Here are some ideas:

To see what you want to do and when (the future work - Tasks) set Tasks
with Start Dates. Then make your View of the TaskPad this one - Active
Tasks for Selected Days. Now you can make a new Task to call me in a week
and let me know how it's going by making a day next week the start day.

As far as knowing what you did on each day, go to the Task folder. Turn on
the Advanced Toolbars (everyone could do with this on!!) and use the Field
Chooser to show the Date Completed Column. You can group by Date Completed
and print for file or drag to your Archive folder etc.
