Linking Table Error

Hi, I've been linking tables from AS400 and the original name in the AS400 is
blah1.blah2.blah3 so my Access would normally convert it to
blah1_blah2_blah3, however after updating the jet sp 8 now I get error
message saying "blah2.blah3" is not a valid name. And of course I also can
not update the linked tables in the DB's I've previously created with the
same table.

Please Help. Thanks

How would I bracket the table at the time of linking?
here are the steps I take:
when in tables window in MS access --> mouse right_click-->Link Table
which opens my data sourses, --> ODBC Databases -->Machine DSN-->blah1

At that time I get an error" "blah2.blah3" is invalid name. make sure it
doesn't include invalid characters...or somethink like that.

Also when I am trying to update the link in the Linked Table Manager for
that blah1_blah2_blah3 table (since this is how it use to come through before
yesterday)
it tells me invalid object proceedure.

Thanks

If at first you don''''t succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.

Sorry, I misunderstood your post. I thought you were trying to use the name
and it wasn't working. I don't know of any way you can bracket it during
linking.
