Linking records in Access 2007

Hi,

I'm teaching myself Access and I've run up against a block, I wonder if
anyone could help.


I want a field in one table to a field in another table. I’ve linked the two
fields in the relationship manager. When I open the relevant table, I can now
click on a plus sign next to each parent record to see which child records
are associated with that parent.

However, I can’t find a way to actually associated a child with a parent.
Can anyone tell me how it’s done?

Hi Karl,

Child records are associated with parent records by having matching key
values in the primary key field (for the parent record) and foreign key field
(for the child record). If you are having trouble seeing these parings, then
I suspect that the foreign key values are null.
