Linking external data into presentations

Hi,
I'm trying to link sections of files into a presentation in
PowerPoint. I know how to link a whole file into a presentation (using
Insert, Object etc.), but what I want to do is just insert part of a
file.
For instance, I would like to link some text from a document. Or a
picture from a document, which could then be used as the link to the
file. Is it possible to do this?

Hi Nik,

You can copy and paste the desired portion of the item
into PowerPoint and then make the pasted item the link to
your file.
