Linking Excel to Word

Hi:
Is it possbile to link an excel spreadsheet to a word document so that you
can update the excel document and have the information automatically update
on the word document? I created a hyperlink between the two documents but
when I update the excel sheet the word document does not change.
I really appreciate any help I can get on this problem becuase my boss needs
this for a project.
Thanks!

Hi

Yes, you can do this. There are several variations on how to do it, but this
is my preferred method:

1. In Excel, select the area of the spreadsheet you want and do Edit > Copy.

2. In Word, do Edit > Paste Special. Tick the box that says you want to Link
the data, and choose to paste as a Picture (Enhanced Metafile).

3. When you want to edit the Excel part, open Excel and make your changes to
the file there. When you go back to Word, it will have updated
automatically.

Note that you can only paste one 'page' full at a time. There is no way to
take a large Excel spreadsheet and have Word spread it over several pages.

Hope this helps.
