Linked Table Manager Not Working

All I did was change the Title of a column in a table and now when I try to
update the table using the linked table manager I get a message that says
"Application-defined or object defined error." And when I try to find the
field added in the Field List to place them in a form it is not available.

This is Access 2002 btw. I compacted and repaired the table. Any idea what
this is and how to remedy? Thanks

Try deleting the linked table and adding it back in.

Thanks I tried that. Established a new link to the compacted db and it still
doesn't work.
