Linked Image Loading Dialogue

Is there a way to hide the dialogue that appears when a linked image is
loading?

I have my background image set to linked on all of my forms. I would like
the change to be seemless when navigating from one form to the next but
there is that annoying dialogue. Keeping the images embedded is not an
option.
