Link w/i Word doc adds text...

I have a word document where I have added a link on a page to an appendix
page w/i the doucment. Everywhere in the document, the appendix is referred
to as Appendix A. For some reason, in the field where the link has been
added, it keeps putting the numbers 6.2 in front of Appendix A (looks like
6.2Appendix A). Even if I manually delete the 6.2, it will reappear. Does
anyone know how to get rid of this number?

Press Alt+F9. What field codes show instead of the "6.2 Appendix A" text?

Change \r to \n in the field code, press F9 to update, and then press Alt+F9
to hide field codes again. This corresponds to choosing "Paragraph number (no
context)" in the Cross-reference dialog box (which will be the safest way to
insert cross-references if you created the appendix headings as suggested in
the article at
