Link mis-redirection

I am having an issue with my search engine (Google or MSN) results.
Here are the steps:
1. I search for something (i.e. apartment rental)
2. Results show for however many links
3. I click on a link to go to a site and the following happens:
Link clicked
Apartment People, Chicago (www.apartmentpeople.com)

Site redirected to
www.shopzilla.com

If I click the back button and click on the link again, here are some
of the other sites I get directed to:
www.monthly rental.com
www.findloanlenders.com/mortgage.html
www.findinsurancecompany.com/homeowner-insurance.html

I've also had the following happen: when I click on the desired link, I
am redirected to another search engines results of the same phrase

I have a Dell Latitude D600 and am using Windows XP Professional

You also have adware on your computer.

Download and run Adaware from Lavasoft and Spybot from
www.safer-networking.org.

Thanks for the link.

The Spybot Software did find and remove numerous items, but I am still
being redirected to other sites than what I'm wanting to go to.

Did you try Adaware also, go to http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ and click on
"Ad-Aware Personal" in the LH column.

Installing Ad-Aware Personal seemed to take care of the problem for
now.
