Link in web page will work on one machine and not the other

I have a client with a desktop and laptop, both WinXP
home, Both with IE6 and matching sp's. However the
Desktop has IE6 reg # with a C at the end and the laptop
does not.?

The desktop browser sees the link on the web page and the
laptop shows a red X.

I've checked and verified that the internet security
settings are the same the Norton settings are the same.
I even added the site to "trusted" in IE6 security
settings and allowed pop ups on that site as well.

Any Ideas?
