Link excel workbook sharing

Hi
I am having excel Xp arabic enabled, the shared exel workbook with links are
working fine with the owner where as the shared user cannot see the data
updated in linked sheets automatically from his side. Please advice..!
 
Is the person making the changes saving the workbook?

The changes have to be saved before others can see the changes.

And when you shared the workbook, there is an Advanced tab
(on the Tools|share workbook dialog) that allows you to specify when the updates
should be seen.

From xl2002's help:

Seeing other users' changes Each time you save the shared workbook, you're
updated with any changes that others have saved since the last time you saved.
If you want to keep the shared workbook open to monitor progress, you can have
Microsoft Excel update you with changes automatically, at timed intervals that
you specify, with or without saving the workbook yourself.

I'm not sure how any Arabic feature would affect this.

Thanks for the tip, well in another case, the user copied the couple of
linked excel xp sheets to the other user's folder across the network. The
second user cannot find the data updated automitically in other linked sheets
once it is entered in the one sheet. The same thing is working fine with the
owner. Pls advice.

Is the linked workbook accessible by both user?

If yes, did the person who added the links use the UNC name (like
\\server01\sharename\folder\filename.xls) or did they use a mapped drive (like:
N:\folder\filename.xls)?

If they used the mapped drive, maybe if the second user remaps the drive using
the same letter, it would help.

And if that fails, maybe just "Edit|links|change source" and pointing to the new
link will give you an idea of what's going on.
